NFC East Preview: Washington Redskins vs. New England Patriots

Washington Redskins vs. New England Patriots

The Washington Redskins and QB Kirk Cousins are still flying high after they pulled off the greatest comeback in franchise history.  Not only did they comeback, but Cousins led them on a game winning TD drive.  Now, head Coach Jay Gruden’s decision to start Cousins does not seem so crazy, right?  Add more good news, Desean Jackson returns (or is he making his 2015 season debut?…well, it seems like it!) adding more firepower to the Redskins’ offense, and things are looking wonderful in Redskins’ land…..then they wake up from the bye week haze and travel to New England to face the undefeated Patriots.

The Redskins looked good two weeks ago against Tampa Bay.  That was Tampa, this is the Patriots.  The Redskins have to find a way to control the ball.  They have to commit to the running game and not force Cousins to make a lot of decisions and throws.  You can bet Belichick and the Patriots D are licking their chops.  Expect Blitzes and a variety of coverage from the Patriots.  The more decisions Cousins has to make the less effective he will be, and the Patriots know it.  The Redskins’ D had better be the biggest fan of the Redskins’ offensive, because it will be the offenses’ job to keep Tom Brady off of the field. The more Brady plays the worse the score will be.  It might get pretty ugly!!
