NFC East Preview: NY Giants vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

New York Giants vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The NY Giants are coming off a high scoring loss in which they put up 49 points, but the defense gave up 52.  The Tampa Bay Bucs are coming off an emotional OT win over the Atlanta Falcons.  The Giants’ offense led by Eli Manning (except for 1 game) has been pretty good all year.  The Giants are better than their 4-4 record, but the lack of a pass rush on some mental mistakes have made them a very average team.  Ahhh, the return of hope and a pass rush come in the form of Jason Pierre-Paul.  JPP returns just in time.  He faces a struggling Tampa offense and will give the Giants’ D a rush and hope.

Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. should have a very productive day against the Tampa Defense.  The Giants will be in a struggle if they fail to commit to the run, and put Eli in some awful situations against a young, aggressive Bucs D.  If the Buccaneers rely heavily on the run and give workhouse Doug Martin the carries he deserves, Jason Pierre-Paul’s return will be quiet, because a physical game will eventually outlast the adrenaline rush of JPP’s return.   How much responsibility will the Bucs place on Jameis Winston?  A ton of questions, but ultimately it will come down to the Giants’ inability to stop the run and run the ball on offense.
