Carolina Panthers Bowl Over Philadelphia Eagles 27-16

The Carolina Panthers bowled over the Philadelphia Eagles last night on their way to a 27-16 victory! The Panthers are 6-0 and this is their best start in franchise history. What do I mean when I say the Eagles were bowled over? The Panthers literally clawed, punished and pounded their way to the win. They didn’t exactly bowl a 300, but the team played well enough to come out with a victory.

Now, who were the bowlers with the best scores of the night for the Carolina Panthers?

  • Mike Tolbert bowled over three or four Eagles on his way to the end zone. He scored a 2-yard rushing touchdown and then had a 2-yard touchdown catch.
  • Jonathan Stewart pounded his way onto 125 rushing yards on 24 attempts. This was his biggest game of the year and he also averaged 5.2 yards per carry.
  • Kawann Short pressured and continued to dominate the opposing team’s’ offensive line. Teammate Jared Allen called Short a “Monster.” Short finished the game with eight total tackles, three sacks, one pass defended, and one forced fumble.
  • Thomas Davis punished the Eagles every time they touched the ball. Davis finished the game with 12 tackles and was a strong presence in both coverage, and run support.

As you can tell, the Panthers won this game as a team. Mike Tolbert said it best when he was awarded the game ball, “We do it all, we do it together!”

Who is the next victim for the undefeated Panthers? The Carolina Panthers play their next game at home against the struggling Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football!
