Carolina Panthers Announce First Cuts

The Carolina Panthers recently made their first set of roster cuts and it was headlined by wide receiver Stephen Hill and offensive tackle David Foucault.

Stephen Hill has had several chances to the make the Panthers roster, but he hasn’t lived up to expectations and is now without a team. He spent the entire 2014 NFL season on the practice squad and even had a chance to make the team last year with the injury to star wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, but he went down with a knee injury in training camp. I think that the Canadian Football League is calling his name. There’s still hope though. Don’t forget about Doug Flutie‘s career.

Here is the full list of first cuts:

  • WR Stephen Hill
  • OT David Foucault
  • LB Jared Barber
  • WR Avius Capers
  • TE Braxton Deaver
  • G Reese Dismukes
  • DT Ray Drew
  • DE Tom Lally
  • C Matt Masifilo
  • OT Willie Smith
  • WR Miles Shuler

Who else is going to be released? You will know the answer to this question real soon. The Panthers currently have 79 players on their roster and have to drop it down to 53 by next Saturday at 4:00 PM.
